Getting started with your ViewSonic 51 Series

Your ViewSonic 51 Series runs on the MyViewBoard ecosystem, a cloud-based platform that works well whether your school is on Google Workspace or Microsoft 365. These videos are designed for kaiako who are new to the panel, focusing on the things you will actually reach for in the classroom rather than every feature in the manual.
Watch them in order if this is your first week with the panel. If you are coming back for a specific feature, jump straight to the section you need.
Starting up your ViewSonic in the morning
The first thing every teacher needs to know: how to power on the panel, navigate the home screen, and get to where you need to go before the bell rings. The ViewSonic 51 Series starts quickly, but knowing the home screen layout means you are not hunting around when tamariki are waiting.

- The power button is on the side panel. A short press wakes it; a long press shuts it down cleanly.
- The home screen gives you direct access to MyViewBoard, your connected apps, and input sources.
- Sign into MyViewBoard with your school Google or Microsoft account to sync your content across devices.
Using freeze and unfreeze
Freeze is one of the most useful features in any classroom panel and one of the most underused. It lets you lock the display on whatever is currently showing while you move around the room, manage the class, or set up the next activity without students seeing what is coming. This video shows you exactly how to use it and when it is most helpful.

- Freeze is accessible from the quick toolbar at the bottom of the screen. No menus required.
- The display stays frozen even while you navigate on your connected device, great for preparing the next slide.
- A small indicator appears on screen when freeze is active so you always know the state of the display.
Using the extended screen
Extended screen mode turns your ViewSonic panel into a second monitor for your laptop, so you can have your notes, next slide, or teacher view on your device while students see only what you want them to see on the board. Once teachers discover this feature, it tends to change how they plan and deliver lessons.
